Before we delve into how you could spend your seven days safari in Uganda, you might need to first make up your mind on whether you prefer a self drive safari or a guided safari. With a self drive safari, you save a little more but it comes with its own challenges, it is like learning on the job because you are new to which place you go to. If you are not comfortable facing unexpected challenges, it is wise to stick to either hiring a car with a driver or a fully guided 7 days Uganda safari. Here is how you can spend your 7 days Uganda safari.
Day One: 7 days Uganda Safari
The first day travel has to be planned around your arrival flight time. It is very tempting to think that you have a full day and forget that you could be arriving as late as 4pm. Therefore instead of transferring to a destination like Murchison falls national park, or Kibale forest national park, you might have to spend the night in Entebbe or to a place like Masheda resort to just reduce on the distance the following day.
In case you are arriving around 10am, you consider the following itinerary for your first day. Transfer to Kibale forest national park. Relax at your lodge in Kibale forest.
Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale
Day Two: Chimpanzee Tracking In Kibale Forest National Park
Just in case you were not able to transfer to Kibale national park the previous day, it is very possible to transfer from Entebbe to Kibale and still do an afternoon Chimpanzee tracking experience however this is very risky given the fact that Ugandan traffic is unpredictable and also the Mubenda road is not in the best condition to allow you smooth travels.
On this day two of Uganda 7 days Uganda safari, you will set out for morning chimpanzee tracking as early as 6:30am. Upon arrival at the park offices near Cafe Kibale, you will attend a briefing after which you will proceed to do the chimpanzee trek. In the afternoon, you will return for lunch at Cafe Kibale before proceeding to visit the twin crater lakes in Fort Portal. You will spend the night in Fort Portal
Day Three: Transfer To Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this third day, After your breakfast, you will set off from Fort Portal to queen Elizabeth national park. You will arrive in Queen Elizabeth national park in the afternoon. You will relax by taking a boat trip at Kazinga channel after which you will transfer to your lodge. You will check in and then proceed for the evening game drive most likely in Kasenyi plains

Day Four: Transfer to Ishasha Sector
You will wake up very early with a packed breakfast so that you do a morning game drive either in Kasenyi plains or Mweya side. After the morning game drive, you will transfer to Ishasha sector. Upon reaching Ishasha, you will have lunch, relax until evening and then set out for the evening game drive. Overnight in Ishasha sector
Day Five: Transfer To Bwindi
You will set out with a parked breakfast for a morning game drive and in the afternoon, you will transfer to Bwindi depending on the sector of Bwindi where your permits have been reserved. Overnight in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Day Six: Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi
After attending your briefing at the park offices, you will set out for gorilla trekking around 8:30am. The trek will last between three hours and 8 hours. It will depend on how close or how far the mountain gorillas are. Upon completion of the gorilla trek, you will go back to the lodge and relax.
Day 7: Transfer from Bwindi to Entebbe
You will set off very early in the morning even before having breakfast. You will have your breakfast in town on your way to Kampala or Entebbe. Your lunch will also be enroute.
In conclusion, the major highlights of a 7 days Uganda safari are, gorilla trekking in Bwindi, chimpanzee tracking in Kibale, and game drives in Queen Elizabeth national park. The itinerary can be adjusted to include Lake Mburo national park however that would mean spending less time in Bwindi or Queen Elizabeth national park. Alternatively, you can include Lake Bunyonyi. You can also choose to end the trip in Kigali instead of Kampala.
