Book Gorillas and Chimpanzee Permits with 4×4 Uganda

When you book a car from 4×4 Uganda Limited, we assist you with booking gorilla permits, chimpanzee tracking permits and habituation experience, for Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo. This is at no extra charge. You only pay for the permits and receive them when receiving the car.

A permit (May be for gorillas or chimpanzees) acts as permission to join the trek in search for the primates. Without a permit, you are not allowed to go gorilla trekking or chimpanzee tracking.

Note that, the number of permits available per day is limited, and their demand is very high through out the year. Visitors are therefore advised to book early and reserve their permits on any day convenient to them depending on their travel program.

Rwanda gorilla permits are managed and sold by Rwanda Development Board, while Uganda Gorillas and Chimpanzee Permits are managed and sold by Uganda Wildlife Authority.

Cost of Gorilla Permits

  • US$1500 for Rwanda (Volcanoes National Park)
  • US$800 for Uganda (Mgahinga and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park)
  • US$1500 for Uganda (Gorilla Habituation Experience)

Requirements to Book Gorilla Permits

Previously, booking gorilla trekking permits and chimpanzee tracking required you to offer your full names, Passport Number, Country of residence, Gorilla trekking date(s), and Desired location (Uganda only). However, gorilla trekking permits are now bought in company names. The only thing that will be needed from you is your desired gorilla trekking dates and location.  The names and passport details will be captured at the national park after presenting the company permit.

Payment for Gorilla Permits

Money for gorilla permits can be paid online by credit card, or through bank wire transfer. Once we receive your payment for gorilla permits, you will receive a receipt from us. We shall proceed with your permit reservation with the details above and we shall send you a confirmation of your reservations.

Gorilla Permits Cancellation, Reschedule and Refunds

Due to unforeseen circumstances, sometimes people have to cancel their trips. On other occasions, they might desire to reschedule to a future date. In instances where there has been a cancellations, there are instances where you can refunded and there are other instances where you cannot be refunded.
