Lodges in Ruhija Sector: Gorilla Safari Lodges

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the leading gorilla trekking destination in Uganda. The park is divided into four sectors, the Buhoma sector, the Rushaga sector, the Nkuringo sector and the Ruhija sector. The Ruhija sector is popular for its ease of connectivity. It is not far from Kabale town. Connecting from the Ruhija sector to Lake Bunyonyi is also very easy.

Though the Ruhija sector has become popular in the recent past more so among self drive in Uganda tourists, it has few accommodation options compared to the Buhoma sector and the Rushaga sector. Here are some of the few accommodation options in the Ruhija sector.

Ruhija Gorilla Safari Lodge

Ruhija Gorilla Safari Lodge is one of the lodges in Bwindi composed of wooden cabins. The lodge has 15 rooms in categories of superior cabins, deluxe cabins, and standard cabins. All these rooms have ensuite services including but not limited to flashing toilets, warm water bathrooms, Free wifi internet connection, and DSTV among several other services. The lodge also allows card payments.

Broadbill Forest Camp

Broadbill Forest Camp is one of the few mid-range lodges in the Ruhija sector. Though it is often referred to as a midrange lodge, expect 2-star services. The camp is located around 3km from the Ruhija Park offices. They have a total of six rooms.

Gorilla Mist Camp

Gorilla Mist camp is located in the same locality as the Ruhija community rest camp. They are all within a 5km radius of the Ruhija gorilla briefing point. It is a budget campsite is reasonably comfortable accommodation.

Bakiga Lodge

Bakiga Lodge is located next to Gorilla Mist Camp. For anyone interested in more descent accommodation than what they can find at the Gorilla Mist camp, then Bakiga Lodge is the best option

Ruhija Community Rest Camp

Ruhija community rest camp is the closest accommodation place to the gorilla briefing point. The lodge is located less than 1.5km from the Ruhija Park offices. It is a budget campsite that is highly recommended for anyone traveling on a budget.

Ruhija Gorilla Guest House

Ruhija Gorilla Guest House is located near Gorilla Mist camp. It is within a 3km radius from the park offices where the gorilla trekking briefing takes place before gorilla trekking. The guesthouse also has space for those who intend to camp with their rooftop tents.

Kiho Gorilla Safari Lodge

Kiho Gorilla Safari Lodge is currently one of the best lodges in Bwindi’s Ruhija sector. It is located within a 5km radius of the Ruhija sector park offices. The lodge has well-spaced units with a swimming pool at the main building.

Bwindi Panorama Nature Resort

Bwindi Panorama Nature Resort is also located within a 5km radius of the Ruhija sector Uganda Wildlife Authority offices. It is one of the strategically located lodges in Ruhija sector of Bwindi impenetrable national park.

Gift of Nature Lodge is one of the best lodges in the Ruhija sector. Their accommodation services are rated 2 stars.

Agandi Uganda Eco Lodges Ruhija

Agandi Uganda Eco lodges are one of the most eco-friendly lodges in the Ruhija sector of Bwindi impenetrable national park. The lodge is also located within a 5km radius of Ruhija sector park offices. They offer decent accommodation compared to campsites.
