Gorilla Heights Lodge Uganda
Gorilla heights lodge in Nkuringo sector of Bwindi impenetrable national park was opened in the first week of November 2024. It will be making a month in December. Besides this new lodge, Newmark has plans of further expanding its wings in Rwanda.
Gorilla trekking is the flagship activity of Uganda safaris. To participate in this activity, you are required to be in possession of a valid gorilla trekking permit of $800 for foreign none residents, US$700 for foreign residents, US$500 for the Africans outside the East African community and Ugx 300,000 for those who are citizens of the East African community.
With the 16 cottages at Gorilla heights, the lodge offer a number of accommodation options including family cottages, single cottages as well as double cottages. The rates range between $600 and $1300.
How To Get To Gorilla Heights Lodge Nkuringo
There are three ways of accessing Gorilla heights lodge in Bwindi; you can take a flight from Entebbe international airport to Kisoro Airstrip. This flight usually takes one hour. From Kisoro airstrip, you can then drive to the lodge within one hour and thirty minutes.
Alternatively, you can drive from Entebbe to the Gorilla heights lodge. The transfer will take you about 10 hours. It is often recommended to consider a stop at Lake Mburo national park instead of driving straight to the lodge in Kisoro.
The third option is driving from Kigali international airport in Rwanda and then cross Cyanika border to you Uganda. This transfer will take you roughly four and a half hours. If your intention is simply to gorilla trek in Bwindi and then board back within a few days this would be the best option. It is even better than taking a flight to Kisoro and then transfer to the lodge.
The delay at the Entebbe international park will not be equivalent to arriving in Kigali and then transfer to Uganda by car. The transfer can be broken down with a coffee break after driving for two hours from Kigali.
