Most Dangerous Animals On A Uganda Safari
Africa has, for a long time, been known as a safari destination. Whereas some people are thinking of beaches in Zanzibar, other people wish to know what it feels like to encounter animals in their natural environment. Besides the misconception of Africa as a huge savannah with almost only dry grass and people walking around naked, many people assume that animals are simply roaming everywhere on the African continent. The moment you leave the airplane, the animals will be found within five kilometers.
The misconception has mainly been created by channels such as the National Geographic, which spend most of their time in the national parks and the undeveloped rural areas. It is from this place that most of the people pose the question of the most dangerous animal on a Uganda Safari. But before we ask this question, we need to paint a proper image of what a Uganda safari means.

In Uganda, safari mainly rotates around visiting underdeveloped tribes (majority of which are transitioning into the commercial life style) and visiting national parks. In the national parks, Mountain gorillas are the most popular animals on a Uganda safari. They are also the most expensive Uganda safari experience. Besides the mountain gorillas, there is also chimpanzee tracking and game drives in the savannah national parks. Here are the most dangerous animals on a Uganda safari

Mosquitoes
The animal you will likely encounter in almost every part of Uganda are the mosquitoes. These are the most dangerous because of their stealtiness. You might never notice them until you get a bite. They are among the main causes of death in Uganda. Mosquitoes can be avoided on three fronts; sleeping in a mosquito net, using insect repellants and lastly using anti malaria medication which will reduce the chances of catching malaria even when you are bitten by a mosquito.

Elephants
Elephants are a very popular mammal more so in Asia. With the many documentaries from the Asian side, some people have been made to think that these are very friendly animals and it is that misconception that makes the elephants in Uganda very deadly. Whenever they are encountered in a forest natural, it is close to impossible not to fire scare gunshots. During the game drives, these are the animals that require a ready free path just in case they charge.

The elephants are very capable of crushing a safari car. It is for this reason that it is very important to stick to the park guidelines. Do not exit your car in the middle of the national park. Keep the engine running, and ready to flee in case the elephant tries to come your way. They are only fond of attacking once they feel threatened.
Nile Crocodiles
Uganda is known for its fresh waters around the country which makes swimming easy. However, it is not automatically possible to swim in every place, some places have crocodiles. It is therefore very important that before you attempt to swim in a natural water body, you get information on whether the place has any crocodiles more so on a self drive safari where information could be scarce.
The Nile crocodile is one of the most dangerous animals that would also require you to keep your hand out of the waters during a boat trip. There are some places such as Lake Bunyonyi which not only have fresh waters but do not also have any crocodiles. It is therefore recommended that you take caution during your boat trip.
In conclusion, other animals to watch out are buffaloes, lions and the hippos. The hippos are very popular on campsites that are located with in national park. However, if you have a car with a rooftop tent, these will not be an issue. In regard to the lions, ensure that you stay in your car at all times.
