Fast And Furious Movie Star Arrives In Entebbe

Tyrese Gibson Arrives In Uganda Ahead Of Africa Coffee Marathon

Uganda is set for its second Africa coffee marathon after the first edition that featured Diamond platinum, Eddy Kenzo among several other notable musicians. Unlike the Rwenzori marathon that is tailored around the Rwenzori mountains, the Africa coffee marathon is a government initiative to ensure that Uganda coffee voice in heard on the international scene. In a coffee economy of above $200 billion annually, Uganda earn less than $2.5 regardless of currently being the leading exporter of coffee in Africa.

Though Ethiopia still tops the list of the leading producer of coffee in Africa with 11.6 million bags annually, almost half of this coffee is consumed locally. Unlike Ethiopia, Uganda mainly produces for export thus topping the list of the leading exporter of coffee on the African continent regardless of producing less coffee than Ethiopia. According to president Museveni, the coffee industry is modern day slavery. The countries the are the actual producers of coffee earn less than 10% of the total revenue generated from coffee annually.

In an attempt to change the narrative, the Africa coffee marathon initiative was launched in 2025 and happing again on 3rd October in a high gear. Tyrese’s visit to Uganda is also a direct billboard to every American that had black listed Uganda on grounds of Ebola. Regardless of the 21 days quarantine for anyone visiting Uganda, Tyrese has chosen to visit the pearl of Africa. This is not the first time that Tyrese is visiting Uganda. His last visit was in 2012 at the time when the Entebbe airport was still in unchanged. With the new look, his arrival already comes with a taste of some change from day one.
