Entebbe Airport Transfer
Airport transfers are the first step to any journey in a foreign country. In Uganda there are mainly four options to consider when it comes to airport transfers. The first option is boarding a private taxi. The spend option is to use transport apps like Uber. The third option is getting an airport transfer from a hotel and the last option is usually getting an airport transfer from a tour agent or a tour company. The fifth option would have been getting the service from a friend but that only works if you have some friends in that town or country.
Currently, Entebbe international airport is the leading international gateway into Uganda. With its variety of accommodation options, many people opt to sleep in Entebbe instead of other major cities in Uganda. In case you intend to spend your first or final night in Entebbe, here is what you need to know about Entebbe Airport-Entebbe airport transfers.
Entebbe Airport To Around Entebbe Airport Transfers
There are two most popular options when it comes to Entebbe Airport to Around Entebbe airport transfers. The most popular of these two are airport taxis. These usually charge between $20 and $40 depending on what part of Entebbe you intend to go. The second option is getting an airport transfer from your hotel in Entebbe. Some hotels offer free airport transfers to their clients while others will charge you an extra $10 or $15 to give you an airport transfer.

Shopping Mall in Entebbe town, Uganda
It is not common for car rental agencies to offer airport transfers to their clients. Instead they deliver the car you intend to rent at the airport so that you drive yourself instead of them driving you to your preferred destination. There is an exception for those who have a fully paid safari and those who hire a car with a driver.
Entebbe Airport to Around Kampala Airport Transfers
The Airport transfer rates again vary depending on what part of Kampala you intend to transfer to. There are places that are very remote. You would do well getting an airport transfer from your hotel; that is if they offer the service instead of using an airport taxi. Regardless of the option you choose, the rates range anywhere between $30 and $60. From the airport to Kampala city center, they usually charge $30. From the airport to places such as Kisaasi, Kyanja, Munyonyo, Bugolobi, Naalya, Bukoto; you will be charged between $40 and $50. You will likely be charged $60 if you use a very big car or when you are going to a very remote location.
Entebbe Airport To Jinja/Lake Mburo National Park
There are two most popular destinations to transfer to outside Entebbe and Kampala. These are Lake Mburo national park and Jinja. The transfer to Jinja usually ranges anywhere between $70 and $90 depending on the type of the car. Lake Mburo natioanl park ranges anywhere between $140 and $160.
I earlier mentioned using Uber or a tour agent. To use uber, you will need to have the Uber app. This is not the only option. On top of this, there is Safe car and Faras. Safe Car is highly recommended above Uber because it has several car option unlike the Ugandan Uber service. The only challenge with Uber, you will never know when the president of Uganda will be travelling. There is a possibility that you could, on a bad day find the road closed for close to an hour which will end up reflecting on you bill.
Therefore before you consider Uber, you must put this in consideration. I would recommend Uber for an Airport drop off instead of an airport pick up.
Lastly the tour operators usually offer airport transfers to their clients. But this is dependent on whether you are going to sleep in Entebbe or Kampala. Some tour operators opt for Hotels handling the airport transfers for them and simply pick up the clients from the hotel instead of picking them at the airport.
In conclusion, it would be wise to get an airport transfer from the hotel you intend to sleep instead of using an airport taxi or a tour operator. We look ahead to hearing from you regarding your experience using the other options mentioned above.
