Last Chance To Visit Uganda Gorillas at Discounted Price
End of Low Season Gorilla Permits in Uganda – 30th Nov 2017
Mountain gorillas are the main tourists attraction in Eastern and Central Africa. The most popular and well established gorilla trekking destinations are;
– Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda
– Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda
– Mgahinga National Park in Uganda
We also have more mountain gorillas in the Magnificent Virunga National Park in Democratic Republic of Congo, but the political instabilities have hindered the rapid development of gorilla tourism in DR Congo.
Everyone interested in gorilla tracking must posses a gorilla permit, that acts as a permission to join the trek in search for these endangered Gental giants in their natural habitat. The number of gorilla permits available per day is limited in all destinations. A maximum of 8 persons allowed to visit each gorilla group per day. This aims at conserving the mountain gorillas and their habitat, by controlling the number of visitors per day.
Cost of Gorilla Permits
Currently, the price of gorilla permits in Rwanda is US$1500 each, US$600 in Uganda and US$400 in Democratic Republic of Congo. However, for the last 5 years, Uganda Wildlife Authority was offering discounted gorilla permits in low season months of April, May and November every year. Here, each gorilla permit costs US$450.
So sad that this offer ends this year 2017. Uganda Wildlife Authority announced an increase of low season price from US$450 to US$600. We are not sure whether the normal rate of $600 will be increased in near future.
So, any one interested in visiting Uganda gorillas at discounted permits, this is your last chance to grab your discounted gorilla permit before it ends by 30th November 2017.
The end of low season rate has come after 4 months when Rwanda announced an increase from US$750 to US$1500. This has greatly impacted tourism business in Rwanda, as more tourists now crossing Katuna and Cyanika boarders to track gorillas in Mgahinga and Bwindi National Parks.
